Tourist Town " BUKITTINGGI"

At this time, I want to tell you about my city "BUKITTINGGI"

Bukittinggi is one of the cities in West Sumatra, Indonesia.The city was formerly called the Fort de Kock and the former had also dubbed as the Paris van Sumatra.The city is the hometown of one of the Bung Hatta proclaimed Indonesia, also known as city heritage with the Clock Tower, a landmark in the heart of the height, shaped like a big clock Big Ben, as well as a symbol for the city which is also located on the edge of a valley Sianok Canyon.

Bukittinggi city is also famous as a tourist city that cool air, and siblings (sister city) in Seremban from Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia.The development of tourism is one of the leading sectors for the city of Bukittinggi, the many interesting attractions, make this city dubbed as the "city tour". Currently in the town of Bukittinggi has been there about 60 hotels and 15 travel agencies. Hotels located in cities such as The Hills Bukittinggi (formerly Novotel), Hotel Pusako and so on.


Because the Bukittinggi known as a tourist town, I'll show you some sights which certainly has a certain uniqueness.  
• Jam Gadang
Jam Gadang is a major landmark of the city of Bukit Tinggi, West Sumatra, Indonesia. It is located in the   center of the city, near the main market,"Pasa Ateh", and is a tourist attraction.

• Sianok Canyon 
Sianok canyon valley is one of the main attractions. Panorama Park is located in the town of Bukittinggi allow tourists to see the beautiful scenery Sianok canyon. Inside the park there is also a cave Panorama hideaway former Japanese soldiers during World War II is referred to as Japan's Hole Bukittinggi. Sianok canyon has very beautiful scenery. Fauna that can be encountered such as long-tailed monkey, gibbon, mitered, deer, wild boar, leopard, and alsotapir

 • Japanese Hole 
Japanese Hole is one of the objects that exist in the resort town of Bukittinggi and is a historical relic of the  Japanese residence during his stay in Bukittinggi.

• Fortress Fort de Kock 
Fort de Kock is a bastion of Dutch heritage that was standing in the town of Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, Indonesia. Fort de Kock is also the old name of Bukittinggi.
The fort is located in the same location with Bukittinggi Zoo and Museum of Traditional House Baanjuang. The area is located on a hill fort left of the entrance while the area zoos and museums gadang shaped house is located on the hill to the right. Both are connected by a bridge Limpapeh beneath which is a highway in the town of Bukit Tinggi. This area is located only 1 km from the center of Bukittinggi in the Jam Gadang, precisely on the canal road  Tuanku nan Renceh.

• Wildlife Park and Cultural Kinantan 
Wildlife Parks and Cultural Kinantan or better known by the name of Bukittinggi Zoo is one of the zoo on the island of Sumatra, which lies on top of Mount Cubadak Bungkuak Bukittinggi, West Sumatra province, Indonesia.Wildlife Parks and Cultural Kinantan is also one of the oldest zoos in Indonesia, and the only one in West Sumatra, with the most complete collection of animals on the island of Sumatra.

• Limpapeh Bridge 
Limpapeh bridge is a bridge over the Ahmad Yani street, which connects Bukittinggi Wildlife Parks and Cultural Kinantan Bukittinggi with Fort de Kock. This stretch of Limpapeh bridge has a length of 90 meters and 3.8 meters wide.

• The Birth House of Bung Hatta 
One cultural attraction is the House of Birth Bung Hatta, this house is the birthplace of Mohammad Hatta, or more familiarly called Bung Hatta who is a national and international figure, a fighter and proclaimer of independence Indonesia. The house is located on Jalan Soekarno Hatta is an alternative tourist attraction when visiting Bukittinggi. And in it there are also photographs of Bung Hatta and family memories.

     If you been to Bukittinggi, do not forget to visit the Pasa Ateh that located adjacent to the Jam Gadang which is the center of the city. In the Pasa Ateh there are many sellers handicrafts and embroidery  as well as snacks souvenirs typical of West Sumatra as Karupuak Sanjai (cassava chips ala Sanjai area in Bukittinggi) is made from cassava, Karupuak Jangek made from cow or buffalo leather and Karak Kaliang, a kind typical of Bukittinggi snacks shaped like a figure 8. Currently, he also has built several modern shopping centers in the city of Bukittinggi.
